An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau XVII no. 20 reporting that all American capital ships and destroyers were to be fitted out with minesweeping equipment. Further more were 6 tugs and 6 gunboats also to be fitted out with such equipment en continuously steamed ahead of the fleet to search and sweep minefields.
